F.A.Q Of Witchcraft

F.A.Q (frequently asked questions) of Witchcraft

What Witchcraft means to us
To us, Witchcraft means, a religion, finding our true beings and accepting who we are. We don't see it as a game, we see it as our life, we see it as Us.

Look into the eyes, and see with your mind for who you are.
We must realize that Wicca/Witchcraft is a very spiritual religion. All of us find a connection with "power" that is higher than ourselves. Very simply put, Earth Religion recognizes that there exists an Energy afloat everywhere and at all times. Every object in existance is made up of this energy. In essence, all objects are alive with this energy. This energy is the "Creative Energy". So then, this energy is the foundation and creativeness of the God and Goddess. (We believe in a balance of female and male powers - hence two figures) In a ritual's purest form, this universal energy (without gender or characteristics) is what is used or Worshipped. God and Goddess are the second purest form of this energy (with gender and human type characteristics). Many people will choose worshipping the God and Goddess and asking for their help, rather than dealing directly with the creative energy, since the God and Goddess can more easily be related to. The third purest form of this universal energy is a SECOND group of Gods and Goddesses. These Gods and Goddesses specialize in specific areas ... such as a Goddess for Love (Venus). For good example of this second group of Gods and Goddesses, we should look to the Egyptian Pantheon of multiple Gods and Goddesses. With this higher power around us at all times and in all places, the key then becomes how we honor and take part in this higher power.

Spells and RitualsWitches perform spells, such as the one described above. Spells are the rough equivalent of "prayers" in other religions. There are typically two important aspects to spells: 1) Rituals are used to communicate with Gods, Goddesses, and Spirit Guides (if one has those beliefs). Scents, colors, textures, etc. are specific to certain Gods, Goddesses, and Spirit Guides. These items may be used during a ritual to attract the desired "listener". We give both thanks and can request assistance. 2) During a spell or ritual , the herbs, oils, candles, incense, gems, etc. on the altar can "transfer" or share their energies with the Witch. This will also help to create the desired effect in the Witch.

What is Paganism?
Paganism is (generally) the basis for all Earth Spirituality. Pagans tend to worship nature and the energy force there-of as the "creator". Under Paganism, everything has a life force and is created from the above energy. This includes plants, animals, and minerals. All of these items, plus ANYTHING else that you can think of, is alive and must be treated with respect and caring. There is nothing in all of creation that is not respected. The worship of a "human-looking" God or Goddess is only a simplified view of pure creative energies. The "God/Goddess-force energies" are manifested on a daily basis in everything we see. In its pure form, the creative energy or Nature is unthinking, perfectly balanced, and is neither good nor evil. It just IS. Oppossed to popular belief, a Pagan is not an Athiest. Pagans do "worship" a higher power. Many regard the Pagan's worship or pure energy and nature to be one of the purest forms of worship.

Nudity
I have heard that you spellcast naked ... is this true ? Some do, but the majority probably do not. The belief of casting spells and preforming rituals without clothing comes mainly from the Gardnarian tradition. It seems as though Gerald Gardner, the founder of the Gardnarian tradition, was also a nudist and he incorporated it into his form of Wicca. The people that follow this teaching tend to believe that the lack of clothes brings them closer to nature and allows their Magick to flow more freely. This is certainly NOT a requirement of general Wicca, and the majority of practitioners probably keep their clothes on .... especially in group rituals.

What is Witchcraft?
In simple terms, WitchCraft means SpellCrafting. SpellCrafting is used by many (well over 1/2) of all Pagans and Wiccans. SpellCrafting (WitchCraft) is a Pagan's equatable version of a Christian's Prayer. Rather than simply "asking" for a change, as through many prayers, SpellCrafting and WitchCraft deals directly with the creative forces. By working directly with plant, animal, human, and mineral energies (the visable manifestations of the creative force) a positve change can be effected. During SpellCrafting, a Witch will typically ask for help from a diety, and then also use the above mentioned energies to create a positive outcome. WitchCraft is also typically related to Divination. In simple terms, divination is the act of seeing the future, the past, an outcome, reading unexpressed "feelings", and the like

What types of colours are witches, and what do they mean- weird question!
What is the difference between a "Black Witch" and a "White Witch" ? A nice clear-cut question. A "Black Witch" is one who practices negative Magick (SpellCasting) on occassion, while a "White Witch" is one who will practive ONLY positive Magick. A Witch will typically live by a code "..an it harm none, do what thou will". A "Black Witch" does not live by this code, and may be found "harming" another on occassion. Magick is seen as positive if it "harms none". What is a "Green Witch" A "Green Witch" is one that works with herbs and plant life. Herbs and plant life is used regularly in healing, spellcrafting, and more. To be called a "Green Witch" one would probably need to focus heavily in this area.
